The Thin Man - Asta the dog

I snapped a photo of this brilliant Lakeland Terrier close to the Globe Theatre on the Southbank this week.

Dogs like this completely remind me of Asta from the 20s/30s Thin Man films with William Powell and Myrna Loy. Asta is basically the only thing that can steal the show from the leads' amazing Golden Age Hollywood costumes and heavy cocktail consumption.

This dress reminds me of a friend who interned for Nicole Farhi and had the job of gathering up every navy blue and striped item they had and sending it to Vogue every spring in the hope that a couple of bits might end up in the inevitable 'nautical' shoot.
