What is it about the seaside that makes you feel like a king? Danes tend to treat the sea as a big, familiar leisure park for sailing, fishing and swimming. Over here in Britain, you only do those things if you are privileged or a country dweller and the sea is all about stolen leisure time; a bank holiday, a train ride, a souvenir. Brighton Rock and Quadrophenia. Getting back to London exhausted after a day of drinking in the sun. You visit once a year and wonder why you don't just come more often.
