I've had a unsettling obsession with Japanese hakama / kimono trousers since last year's samurai film binge before our Japanese holiday. During the holiday I spent ages stalking the Miko attendants at the Meiji shrine in Tokyo for photos (they wear beautiful red ones) but didn't think to actually buy any myself.
(Sorry, Mikos...)
Now culottes, gauchos and every kind of wide-leg shorts are in fashion and I want them even more. It has gotten a lot worse since I watched the Man in the High Castle, with its lovely Aikido scenes with Alexa Davalos kicking ass in gigantic hakama.

The feeling isn't going away! I might have to make some (for instance with this tutorial) or just buy some from a martial arts shop like this one.
